- In this study, was conducted based on the consideration that there are many students in SMK YPI Darussalam 1 said that there was no appropriate English material or book with their major. Based on the problem above, the researcher conducted the material the study that focus on developing English material for 10th grade of computer and internet networking engineering at SMK YPI Darussalam 1. The design of the study was Researcher and Development (R&D) Study. The development model used in this researcher was the ADDIE model which has the procedures; Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation (Try Out), Evaluating and create final product. The result of need analysis related that all participant’s need English material appropriate with English material with their major especially computer and internet networking engineering major. The researcher’s product was in the form of book. Based on the syllabus and curriculum in first semester the material include five topics, these were hardware, software, BIOS setup, peripheral computer, and safety work of computer’s programmer. The researcher used the contextual based as the approach and more explanation more exercise as the strategy. Finally, it can be concluded that the English material for 10th grade of computer and internet networking engineering at SMK YPI Darussalam 1 appropriate with the needs of students. It can be used as a guideline to learn for students with or the English teacher.
