- Learning mathematics are needed to understanding and mastery of materials, especially in reading symbols, tables and diagrams. It is used in mathematics as well as complex mathematical structures, from the concrete to the abstract, especially if given is a matter in story form. In solving the story problem requires the ability to translate the problem into the language of mathematics and pay attention to the intention of the matter. Mastery of basic arithmetic operations is very important because this operation will be the basis for students who will learn math, therefore the concept of arithmetic should be completely understood by the students. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship of opreration ability count integer with the ability to solve the story problem This research is a correlational research. The population in this study was obtained from the elementary school students in grade 3 at 17 schools in Kebomas district, totaling 419 students. Determination of sample of researchers using Slovin formula. Based on calculations using slovin formula obtained 85 research samples of learners. From 85 learners the researchers took 5 students from 17 schools of elementary school in Kebomas district. Data collection method used is test method. The result of data analysis shows that there is relationship between ability of integer count operation with ability to solve story problem with medium relationship level.
