  • Quality is the fulfillment of customer needs and expectations or even exceeds the needs and expectations of customers. Every company has to improve the quality of its products and processes. Six sigma is a comprehensive and flexible system for achieving, maintaining, and succeeding businesses. PT Anugerah Putra Sanjaya is a company which engaged in manufacturing processed timber. The company produces processed wood materials which use the main raw materials of merbau wood, then processed it into several products Merbau c2e, Merbau e4e, and Finger Joint Laminating. The focus of this research is on Finger Joint Laminating products. This research begins by identifying the types of defects in the product. At the stage of the workmanship of the factory using six sigma cycle which are Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve (DMAI). The method which used in six sigma concept approach is FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) as a method for determining the highest RPN (Risk Priority Number) value which allows for continuous improvements.The result of this research is beingknown the 3 types of defects which occur in Finger Joint Laminating products, such asSplitconnection has 50%, broke has 35%, and unequal color has 15%. Thenknown also the root critical cause. And the last one is to find the best alternative solution, so it can be an improvement to overcome the production defects.
