  • The objective of this research is to investigate whether or not the VCT learning model of video media learning-assisted value analysis type has an effect on the mastery of basic competency of Appreciating the Tolerant Attitudes on the Variety of Ethnic Groups, Religions, Races, Cultures, and Genders. This research used the true experimental method with the posttest-only design. Its population was the students in Grade VII of State Junior Secondary School 1 of Mojolaban, and its samples were the students as many as 32 in Grade VII D as the class control and those as many as 32 in Grade VII C as the experimental class. They were taken by using the cluster random sampling technique. The data of research were collected through, content analysis observation, and questionnaire. The data prerequisite analysis used the normality test and the homogeneity test, and the proposed hypotheses of the research were tested by using the t test. The result of the research shows that the value of the t count was 2.273 at the significance level of 5% with the dk = n1 + n2 – 2 (32 + 32 – 2 = 62 so that the value of the t table was 1.999 (interpolation). The value of tcount = 2.273 was greater than that of the t table = 1.999, and the average score of the experimental class = 122.75, was better than that of the control class = 116.25. Thus, the VCT learning model of video media learning-assisted value analysis type has an effect on the mastery of basic competency of Appreciating the Tolerant Attitudes on the Variety of Ethnic Groups, Religions, Races, Cultures, and Genders.
