- Abstract: The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of the concept of the independence proclamation of Indonesia through the application of Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research are 5th grade teachers and students of 5th grade of SD Negeri 1 Kiringan Boyolali as many as 30 students. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, test, and documentation. The validity test of the data using triangulation techniques, triangulation of sources and content analysis. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis and interactive analysis models from Miles and Huberman. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model can be used to improve the understanding of the concept of the independence proclamation of Indonesia on the 5th grade of SD Negeri 1 Kiringan Boyolali in academic year 2015/2016. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep proklamasi kemerdekaan Indonesia melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectualy (SAVI). Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas V dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Kiringan Boyolali sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teknik, triangulasi sumber dan analisis isi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan model analisis interaktif dari Miles dan Huberman. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectualy (SAVI) dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep proklamasi kemerdekaan Indonesia pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Kiringan Boyolali tahun ajaran 2015/2016.
