  • Abstract: The objective of this research was to improve the poetry writing skills through Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model to 5th grade students of Mangkuyudan No.2 state primary school in the academic year of 2015/2016. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with cycles model. This research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this research are the teacher and students of 5th grade in Mangkuyudan No.2 state primary school. The data collection techniques of this research use observation, interview, document, and test. The data validity of this research was tested using source and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique used was interactive data analysis.The result of research at pre-action stage, average value of the poetry writing skills reached 58,14 with 28,57% classical completeness or as much as 8 out of 28 students succeeded. On the first cycle, the average value achieved 70,35 with 67,86% of classical completeness or about 19 out of 28 students succeeded. On the second cycle, the average value increased up to 79 with 89,28% of classical completeness or about 25 out of 28 students succeeded. Based on the analysis of result, it can be concluded that use of learning model of Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectualy (SAVI) can improve the skills of poetry writing of the 5th grade students of Mangkuyudan No.2 state elementary school in the academic year of 2015/2016.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi melalui model pembelajaran Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectualy (SAVI) pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Mangkuyudan No.2 tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model siklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri Mangkuyudan No.2. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Teknik uji validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis data interaktif. Hasil analisis penelitian pada pratindakan menunjukkan nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis puisi mencapai 58,14 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 28,57% atau sebanyak 8 siswa dari 28 siswa tuntas. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata kelas menacapai 70,35 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 67,86% atau 19 siswa dari 28 siswa tuntas. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 79,1 dengan ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 89,28% atau 25 siswa dari 28 siswa tuntas. Berdasarkan analisis hasil dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectually (SAVI) berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Mangkuyudan No.2 tahun ajaran 2015/2016.Kata Kunci: menulis, keterampilan menulis puisi, Somatic Auditory Visualization Intellectualy (SAVI).
