- Abstract: The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of light characteristic use Two-Stay Two-Stray model with based on experiment. This research appilicated in the fifth grade student of SD Negeri Karangasem II in the academic year 2014/2015. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with consist of three cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research were the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Karangasem II, amount 31 students, there are 15 male students and 16 female students. The techniques of collecting data were interview, documentation, observation, and test. The technique to analyze data use einteractive analyze model which consist of three components, namely data reduction, presentation of data, and taking the conclusion. Based on the research result, it can be concluded the uses of Two-Stay Two-Stray model based on experiment increases the understanding of light characteristic concept at the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Karangasem II, in the academic year 2014/2015. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya dalam pembelajaran IPA melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran Two-Stay Two-Stray berbasis eksperimen pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Karangasem II tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Karangasem II yang berjumlah 31 siswa, yang terdiri dari 15 orang siswa laki-laki dan 16 orang siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Analisis data penelitian ini terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran Two-Stay Two-Stray berbasis ekperimen dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Karangasem II tahun ajaran 2014/2015.
