  • Abstract: The aims of research are to know: (1) the influence of Survey,Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) and direct instruction of learning strategy toward reading comprehension ability, (2) the influence of high and low of reading interest, (3) the interaction between interaction between Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) and Direct Instruction learning strategy with high reading interest and low reading interest toward reading comprehension ability. This research used quasi experiment method. The research result have showed: (1) there is difference influence Survey,Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) and direct instruction of learning model, (2) there is difference influence of high and low of reading interest, (3) there is no interaction between interaction between Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) and Direct Instruction learning strategy with high reading interest and low reading interest. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh startegi pembelajaran survey, question, read, recite, and review (SQ3R) dan strategi pembelajaran langsung (direct instruction) terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman, (2) pengaruh minat baca tinggi dan minat baca rendah terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman, (3) interaksi antara penerapan strategi pembelajaran Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) dan strategi pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) dengan tingkat minat baca tinggi dan tingkat minat baca rendah terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) dan strateg pembelajaran langsung, (2) terdapat pengaruh minat baca tinggi dan rendah, (3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara penerapan strategi pembelajaran Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) dan strategi pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) dengan tingkat minat baca tinggi dan tingkat minat baca rendah terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman.
