- Abstract: The purpose of this research is to improve the comprehension of light characters concept by application of Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectualy (SAVI) approach for the fifty grade students of SD Negeri Kerten II in the academic year 2016/2017. The form of this research is the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consists of four phases, they are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research subject is fifth grade students and teachers of SDN Kerten II with number of students as much as 28 students. The data collection techniques using observation, interview, test, and the document. The data analysis techniques used are interactive analysis model which consists of three components they are data reduction, presenting data, and conclusion drawing. The conclusion of this research is the application of Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectualy (SAVI) approach could improve comprehension of light characters concept for the fifty grade students of SD Negeri Kerten II in the academic year 2016/2017. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya melalui penerapan pendekatan Somatis, Auditori, Visual, dan Intelektual (SAVI) pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Kerten II Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa dan guru kelas V SDN Kerten II dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 28 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis interaktif yang terdiri dari tiga komponen yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan Somatis, Auditori, Visual, dan Intelektual (SAVI) dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya siswa kelas V SDN Kerten II tahun ajaran 2016/2017.
