PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA GAMBAR MELALUI METODE DISCOVERY TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS

- This study was aimed to determine the effect of media use image through the discovery method of KPS. This study design was pretest-posttest non equivalent group. Samples were VIID and VIIG, chosen by cluster random sampling. This research data the form of quantitative which obtained from the average value of test were analyzed by using t-test and U-test. The qualitative data which obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and questionnaire responses of students were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the use of media images through the discovery method was able to improve the students KPS, it was shown at the value of (N-gain 64.39) experimental class higher and significantly different than the control classes (N-gain19.90). Learning activities of the students was also improved with average 77.78 of the experimental class and 62.79 in the control class. Most students responded positively to media images through the use of discovery methods. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media gembar melalui metode discovery terhadap KPS. Desain penelitian pretest-posttest kelompok nonequivalent. Sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIID dan VIIG, dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media gambar melalui metode discovery dapat meningkatkan KPS siswa, terlihat pada nilai (N-gain 64,39) kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dan berbeda nyata dibandingkan kelas kontrol (N-gain 19,90). Aktivitas belajar siswa juga meningkat dengan rata-rata 77,78 kelas eksperimen dan 62,79 pada kelas kontrol. Sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media gambar melalui metode discovery. Kata kunci : aktivitas siswa, keterampilan proses sains, media gambar, metode discovery
