PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE PRAKTIKUM DENGAN MODEL JIGSAW TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA

  • The aim of this study was to know the influence of using practical method with Jigsaw learning model to the studentâ€TMs science process skill. This study was a quasi-experimental using pretest-posttest equivalent group design. Samples were VIIA and VIIG that chosen by cluster random sampling. This research data consisted of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of test were analyzed by using U-test. Qualitative data obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and student feedback questionnaires were analyzed descriptively. The results showed the studentâ€TMs science process skill was improve with average N-gain 63,05. The studentâ€TMs learning activities was also improve with average 88.02. Thus, it could be concluded that using practical method with Jigsaw learning model was influenced significant to improve the studentâ€TMs science process skills and the studentâ€TMs learning activities in the characteristics of living creatures subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental semu dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIG yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian terdiri dari data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-U. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain 63,05. Aktivitas belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata 88.02. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi pokok ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, keterampilan proses sains, metode praktikum, model pembelajaran jigsaw
