Improving the students’ skill in writing descriptive text by using suggestopedia method at the eleventh grade of MA Nurul Ulum Kotagajah Central Lampung in The Academic Year of 2018/2019

  • The aim of this study is to improve the students’ skill particularly in writing by using suggestopedia as a method which is the main idea by using either classical musics or some pictures in decoration features. This research was conducted at the eleventh grade of MA Nurul Ulum Kotagajah, Central Lampung, and subjects of this class are twenty students. The problem in this study is low motivation of students in studying English, especially when they write. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR), classroom action research is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In accumulating the data, the researcher uses pre-test and post-test, observation, field note, and documentation. The findings research indicates that has significant improvement from cycle I to cycle II. The average score of cycle I is 66,9 by percentage of students’ succesfulness 45%. Then, the average score of cycle II is 75,2 by percentage of students’ succesfulness 80%%, so it has progress up to 8,3 points. Based on the result is showed that indicator of succes has achieved by 80% with Criteria Minimum of Score (CMoS) at least 72. So, the conclusion of this research is by using suggestopedia method, it can improve the students’ skill in writing, making the interaction in learning process and conveying motivation to improve the students’ skill in writing.
