- This study aims to determine whether the implementation of motor imaging strategy can improve reading skill and learning activity among the eighth graders at MTs Darul A'mal West Metro. The researcher expects that Motor Imaging Strategy could help the students in learning process and be one of the strategies to increase the students‟ reading skill and learning activity. The researcher conducted classroom action research (CAR) which was done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this research was 25students in Eighth graders of MTs Darul A‟mal West Metro. In collecting data, the researcher used test (pre-test, post-test I and post-test 2), observation and documentation. The research was conducted collaboratively with the English teacher of MTs Darul A‟mal West Metro. The result of this research showed that Motor Imaging Strategy had the positive result in improving the students‟ reading skill and learning activity of the Eighth graders of MTs Darul A‟mal West Metro. It can be known by the students‟ percentage of post-test 2 that 76% of the students can achieve Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC). In addition, based on the result of observation in cycle 2 74% of the students are activein learning activity. It means that the Motor Imaging Strategy can improve the students‟ reading skill and learning activity.
