  • The purpose of this research is to show that the effectiveness of Team Game Tournament Technique towards the students‘ speaking performance.The students of SMP N 1 Seputih Raman have difficulties in speaking performance. Moreover, they also have difficulties to achieve speaking performance. This research is conducted to discuss how the increase of Team Game Tournament Technique towards the students‘ speaking performance in English. This research is categorized to Classroom Action Research (CAR). In this research, the researcher conducts Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is done in two cycle. Each cycle consist of planning, acting, observing and reflecying. The subject of this research is the students of VIII F of SMP N 1 Seputih Raman Central Lampung. In collecting data, the researcher used test, observation, and documentation. The results of the research showed that, from two cycles, theaverage scores of students‘ speaking performance are (a) 62,65in pre-test, and (b) 67,69in post-test 1 as well as (c) 72,34in post-test 2. The condition of the class was getting better. The students were more active in English learning process. It means that there was significant increase of Team Game Tournament teaching tehnique on the students‘ speaking performance of eighth grade of SMP N 1 Seputih Raman Central Lampung. The conclusion that Team Game Tournament teaching tehnique is one tehnique that can be used to increase students‘ speaking performance.
