- Google translate is a free statistical machine translation service providedby google inc. to translate a section of text,documents,or webpage into anotherlanguage. Nowadays, most people like using google translate include the studentsto make easier in translating into language what they want. The objectives of the research to know kinds of grammatical errors thatoutput by google translate and is use by the students in translate abstract fromIndonesia to English. A qualitative research design was used to describe the students’ translationresult from google translate is used by the students. Sample taken from abstractsof the student’s English Department. In conducting the research, the writer usedpurposive sampling. The research result shows that the students using google translate intranslating the abstracts. Kinds of grammatical errors that output namely: Error ofOmission, Error of Addition, Misinfromation, Misordering. Result of a finding itcan be conclude that translate from Indonesian to English that output by googletranslate is not accurate because translated word by word. So that, is not suitablewith rule, structure in English and disregarded the meaning.Consequently, resultof the translate must edited.
