  • Socialscience(IPS)subjectmatterfunctionstodevelopnationalattitudeandsocialattitudeandknowledgeaboutIndonesiansocietylifebasedonpastandpresentandfuture.Educationpurposeofsocialscienceinelementaryschool(SD)accordingtosomeeducationexpertshasnotbeenreachedasexpected.ThisisshowedbyDimyati(2002)andJoni(1996).Dimyati(2002)suggestedthatqualityofexecutingteachingandlearningprocessthatencouragethechildactivelyinlearningbasicskillsuchasreadingwritingcalculatingandobservinginelementaryschoolisstillfarfromthecurriculumexpectation.AccordingtoJoni(1996)thechildscapabilitytocommunewithabstractmattersinnaturerequestedtodigestideasinvariousacademicsubjectmattersthatisgenerallyformedintheagewhentheysitinlastgradeofelementaryschoolanddevelopsubsequentlywhentheyinjuniorhighschool.RelatingwithfindingsabovetheresearcherisinterestedtousesocialscienceintegratedlearninginsocialsciencesubjectmatterofVgradeisthattoincreasestudentscreativityandautonomytodevelopcapabilityrationalandsocialattitudesandcapabilityofdevelopingIndonesiancommunity.Elementaryschoolstudentthatissubjectinthisresearchisfivegradestudentsthataregenerally11yearsinage.Piagetdistinguishesfourcognitivestudentsdevelopmentperiodofthisageinvolving(1)sensormotorperiod(2)preoperationalperiod(3)periodofconcreteoperationsand(4)periodofformaloperation(Slavin2000).SocialscienceintegratedlearningcanincreasestudentscreativityandcanincreasestudentsautonomyofgradeVofelementaryschool.Thispotentialisbasedonconsiderationsocialscienceintegratedlearningthatismorefocusedonthestudent(Loepp2005)givingtheopportunityforinvolvementofvariousstudentspotentialinlearningprocessandthematterwillmakethelearningmoreuseful.Thelearningmodelhassurplusbecauseofsystematicalapproachmethod.Integratedlearningmodelissufficientlygivinganopportunityininvolvingvariousstudentexperiencesbecausethethemesraisedischosenfromthemattersthatthestudentexplainthatmaydepartfrompreviousexperienceandbasedontherequirementthestudentfeels(Joni1996).AccordingtoKovalikandMcGeehan(1999)thethemechoseninintegratedlearningprovidebasicstructuretoimportantconceptsthathelpsthestudentinlookingatpatternandmakerelationshipsbetweendifferentfactsandideas.Thisresearchhasapurposeto(1)increasestudentscreativityandautonomyofgradeVstudentinelementaryschoolofMalangMunicipaland(2)improvementofsocialscienceintegratedlearninginincreasingstudentscreativityandautonomy.ThisresearchusesqualitativeapproachthathasclassroomactionresearchdesignwithJ.Elliotmodel(199172)thathasapurposeofimprovingteachingandlearningprocess.Thetreatmentofinstructionaloccursduring7weeksperformedineveryweek(2x3570minutes).Whereasestablishmentof7weeksmeansthat7x70minutes490minutes.Sototaltimeis490minutes.Datacollectionisdonebyusinglearningresultteststudentcreativitytestthroughintegratedlearningmodelwithfiguralmedia(picture)andverbalwithTTCT(TorranceTestofCreativityThinking)testandstudentsautonomytestthroughstudentcapability.Dataanalysisusest-testbyusingfacilityofPSS12program.Thisresearchproducesfindingsasfollow(1)integratedlearningofmodelsocialsciencesubjectmatterwithintegratedlearningpatternwithfigural(picture)mediaandverbalthatusesapproachamongstudyfieldscanincreasegradeVstudentcreativityofelementaryschool(2)integratedlearningifsocialsciencesubjectmatterbyusingapproachamongstudyfieldscanincreasegradeVstudentsautonomyinelementaryschool.Basedonthesefindingsitisproposedsomesuggestionsasfollow(1)integratedlearningofsocialsciencesubjectmattercanincreasegradeVstudentscreativityandautonomycangivecontributionfordevelopingintegratedlearningtheoryofsocialsciencesubjectmatterinelementaryschool(2)forteacheritisasinputinstrivingtoincreaseteachingandlearningprocessofsocialsciencesubjectmatterintheclassand(3)forstudentsthathavedifficultyinintegratedlearningofsocialsciencesubjectmattertheycanbedirectedsothatcapabilityoftheircapabilityandautonomyincreaseandgiveprovisionofbasiccapabilitytoliveautonomously.
