  • This research was designed to understanding governance on decentralization of education policy in Bandar Lampung Municipality. Spesifically, it was to explained how is the character of governance on decentralization of education policy in Bandar Lampung Municipality; how is the impact of the type of governance toward education equality, increasing quality of education, and deepening of public participation in education sector, then what is the factors that influencing education governance. Through qualitative approaches, it was finding that (a) the governance of education decentralization was not established. Government actors is more powerful in the context of policy-making process; (b) there is positive results caused by education policy of Bandar Lampung Municipality, but it does not mean that the governance is real; (c) responsivity, institutional management, and limitation on resources are the real problem faced by Bandar Lampung Municipality to established good and clean governance in education sector.Keywords: governance, decentralization, education policy.
