- The Performance of Department of Tourism and Culture on Tourism Development (A Study at Department of Tourism and Culture in South Minahasa District). The development of tourism destinations and places is one of many efforts which can increase local tourism. This study sought to find out and analyze how the performance of Department of Tourism and Culture in develop tourism destinations and places, and which factors either can be a supportive and inihibitive on increasing the performance of officers and in development of tourism in South Minahasa district. There are several obstacles which still owned in South Minahasa Government in developing tourism so that there is a need for increased performance of Tourism and Culture Department in case to developing existed tourism places. In order to know how important increased performance of Department of Tourism and Culture in order to developing tourism, then in this research, researcher use a type of causal assosiative research method with using of quantitative approach. Based on the results, it has been found that there are some factors that can increase the performance of officers and in developing tourism, which is increase the competences of officers, a work of disciplines, tourism promotions, development of local’s Human Resources and observed tourism development by the Department of Tourism and Culture of South Minahasa district.Keywords: Performance, officers, tourism, tourism places development
