- Abstract: The Development of Tourism Village as Embodiment of Community-based Ecotourism in Batu City. Seeing the potential of nature has a tourist attraction, in 2011 the Government began to introduce the term of tourist villages as an alternative tourist rests on the concept of community-based ecotourism in which the organization of tourism activities carried out by utilizing the natural environment that is managed by the local community. As a tourist attraction of existence, tourist villages do not yet have high competitiveness when compared to other tourist objects in Batu. That is because in terms of human resources is still low, the lack of infrastructure, as well as various regulations on tourist villages that does not exist in the villages, furthermore do a good development of the government and the community to the tourist village attractions can be better. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the development of rural tourism as a manifestation of community-based ecotourism in Batu and identify factors supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of rural tourism. Keywords: Development, Village Tourism, Ecotourism, Batu City. Abstrak: Pengembangan Desa Wisata sebagai Perwujudan Ekowisata Berbasis Masyarakat (Community-based Ecotourism) di Kota Batu. Melihat potensi alamiah yang memiliki daya tarik wisata, pada tahun 2011 Pemerintah Kota Batu mulai memperkenalkan istilah desa wisata sebagai suatu alternatif wisata yang berpijak pada konsep ekowisata berbasis masyarakat dimana penyelenggaraan kegiatan wisata dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan kondisi lingkungan secara alamiah yang dikelola oleh masyarakat lokal. Sebagai suatu objek wisata yang cukup diperhatikan eksistensinya, desa wisata belum memiliki daya saing yang tinggi apabila dibandingkan dengan objek-objek wisata lain yang ada di Kota Batu. Hal tersebut dikarenakan dari segi sumber daya manusia masih rendah, minimnya sarana-prasarana, serta berbagai regulasi tentang desa wisata yang belum ada di tingkat desa/ kelurahan, sehingga dilakukan suatu pengembangan baik dari pemerintah maupun masyarakat agar desa wisata dapat menjadi objek wisata yang lebih baik. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengembangan desa wisata sebagai perwujudan ekowisata berbasis masyarakat (community-based ecotourism) di Kota Batu dan mengetahui faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam pengembangan desa wisata.
