- This study aimed to determine the factors that cause school dropouts at the junior high school level in Kotagajah Sub-district, Central Lampung Region. The research method used was descriptive method and data collection techniques were in the form of questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The population of this study was 70 children dropping out of school at the junior high school level. The sample of this study was 30 school dropouts at the junior high school level along with 30 dropout parents at the junior high school level. The sampling technique used was the area sampling in the largest population area, namely Kotagajah Village and East Kotagajah Village. The data measurement technique used was a quantitative percentage technique.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP di Kecamatan Kotagajah Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Populasi penelitian ini ialah 70 anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 30 anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP beserta orang tua anak putus sekolah pada tingkat SMP yang berjumlah 30 jiwa. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah area sampling pada daerah populasi terbanyak yaitu Desa Kotagajah dan Desa Kotagajah Timur. Teknik pengukuran data yang digunakan adalah teknik kuantitatif persentase.Kata kunci: anak putus sekolah, faktor penyebab, pendidikan dasar
