- This research aims to know the characteristics of the coffee farmers who live in the village of Bukit Kemuning Sub-district Bukit Kemuning, North Lampung district in 2011. Point press his studies on (1) the age of the head of family farmers of coffee, (2) the level of formal education heads of family farmers of coffee, (3) the number of child headed families owned coffee farmers, (4) the number of dependents the head families farming coffee, (5) the area of land tenure of head of family farmers of coffee, (6) the head of a household income level of farmers. This research uses the method diskriptif. The population in this study amounted to 621 families coffee farmers, large samples taken 10 percent of the population.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik petani kopi yang bertempat tinggal di Desa Bukit Kemuning Kecamatan Bukit Kemuning Kabupaten Lampung Utara Tahun 2011. Titik tekan kajiannya pada (1) Umur kepala keluarga petani kopi, (2) Tingkat pendidikan formal kepala keluarga petani kopi, (3) Jumlah anak yang dimiliki kepala keluarga petani kopi, (4) Jumlah tanggungan kepala keluarga petani kopi, (5) Luas kepemilikan lahan kepala keluarga petani kopi, (6) Tingkat pendapatan kepala keluarga petani kopi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode diskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 621 kepala keluarga petani kopi, besar sampel yang diambil 10 persen dari populasi.Kata kunci: karakteristik, petani, kopi
