- The aim of this research aim to analysis the effect of intellectual intelligence (IQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ) to continue study to university. The method used is descriptive method of verification with ex post facto approach and survey. The results show: 1) There is the influence of the intellectual intelligence to interest of students to continue their studies to university students of SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. 2) There is the influence of the emotional intelligence to interest of students to continue their studies to university students of SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. 3) There is the influence of the intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence to interest of students to continue their studies to university students of SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. Penelitian ini bertrujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan intelektual dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap minat siswa melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif verifikatif dengan pendekatan ex post facto dan survey. Hasil analisis menunjukkan: 1) Ada pengaruh kecerdasan intelektual terhadap minat siswa melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi siswa SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. 2) Ada pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap minat siswa melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi siswa SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. 3) Ada pengaruh kecerdasan intelektual  dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap minat siswa melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi siswa SMA Negeri 1 Talang Padang. Kata kunci: intelektual, emosional, minat studiÂ
