  • The objective of the research was to acquire the proper design and construction of turbine propeller for an open flume with capacity of 100 watts. The predetermined input parameters were 0,005 m3/sec water flow (Q), 3 m head (H),  400  specific  speed  (ns),  4078  rpm  of  turbine  rotation,  and  149  watts  of turbine power. The design resulted in 51 mm external diameter of turbine runner, 20,4 mm diameter of turbine vanes, 5 turbine vanes, 6 director vanes, with 26,10  vane’s angle. The constructed turbine worked well with an output of 120 watts at turbine angular speed of 4000 rpm.   For 125,6 watts output the turbine efficiency was 89 % and the overall efficiency was 82 %. The  design  is  therefore  suitable  for  small  rural/remote  hones  beyond  the service of the state electric company (PLN).
