- Abstract: The aims of this research are: (1) to improve learning process quality of writing scientific papers, and (2) to improve the result of learning of writing scientific papers with peer-correction technique. The subjects of this research was the students of class XI language of SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in the school year 2011/2012. The data that is used in the form of qualitative data in the form of observations and interviews as well as quantitative data in the form of test results to write scientific papers. Data analysis technique used is the comparative descriptive statistical analysis and critical analysis by comparing data from one cycle to the next cycle. The results of the analysis of the data shows that peer-correction techniques can improve the quality of learning outcomes and process of writing scientific papers. On the other hand, the study also shows that the application of the technique of peer-correction need to be adapted to the character of the participant learners, learners background knowledge, and the number of learners in the classroom. Keywords: peer-correction, learning process quality, writing, scientific papers Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah, dan (2) untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah dengan teknik peer-correction. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas kelas XI Bahasa di SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun ajaran 2011/2012. Data yang digunakan berupa data kualitatif berupa observasi dan wawancara serta data kuantitatif berupa hasil tes menulis karya ilmiah. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan komparatif analisis kritis dengan membandingkan data dari satu siklus ke siklus berikutnya. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa teknik peer-correction. dapat meningkatkan kualitas hasil dan proses penulisan karya ilmiah belajar. Di sisi lain, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik peer-correction harus disesuaikan dengan karakter peserta didik peserta, peserta didik latar belakang pengetahuan, dan jumlah peserta didik di dalam kelas.
