- Abstract: Study of the roots of earth peg and fruits of the chili Java as afrodisiaka have been carried out including the determination of testosterone levels. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of fractions of hexane-insoluble ethanolic fruit extract of chili Java and ethanolic extract of the roots of the earth peg elevated levels of testosterone Wistar male rats. This research is True Experimental treatment orally once daily for 30 days consisted of a combination of hexane-insoluble fraction of ethanolic fruit extract at a dose of chili Java 31.72 mg, 63.4 mg, and 126.88 mg/kg with ethanolic extract of the roots of the pegs earth 500 mg/kg (K1, K2, K3); ethanolic extract of the roots of the earth peg 500 mg/kg (EPB); hexane-insoluble fraction of ethanolic fruit extract of chili Java 126.88 mg/kg bw (FTLH) . On day 31, testosterone levels determined by ELISA . The data obtained were statistically analyzed by Anova 95% confidence level. The results showed that treatment of K1, K2 and K3 do not give a significant difference in the increase in testosterone levels compared with Andriol as a positive control or sodium CMC as a negative control. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the administration of the hexane-insoluble fraction Java chili fruit extract and extract the earth peg 500 mg/kg/mm had no effect on testosterone levels increase in Wistar male rats.
