  • Abstract: Saliva plays an important role in optimal oral health, it modulates the ecosystem through lubrication of the alimentary bolus, protection against microorganisms, buffer and repair of the oral mucosa, and helps in dental remineralization. Honey has a high mineral content that can increase saliva production so can maintain the pH balance of saliva in oral cavity. The study aimed to showed the effect of rinsing with honey solution on pH saliva. There are 56 subject were selected from Women Organizing in GMIM Getsemani Senduk Minahasa during June 2012. pH saliva were examined by using saliva check buffer. The data was analysed with Paired sample t Test. The analysis Paired sample t Test showed that the average pH of saliva early responders before rinsing with a solution of honey amounted to 6.257 with the category of "moderate" and the average pH of saliva late respondents was 7.043 with the category of "good". This means an increase in the average (mean) of 0.786. Based on the statistical analysis using paired sample t test at the 95% significance level (α = 0.05), the value of t = -21.409 with df = 55 t table = 1.67 with p = 0.000 is smaller than the value α = 0.05 (p
