- Abstract : The main objective of this study was determine the contribution of periodontal disease in pregnancy to low birth weigh. A case-control study with 45 postpartum women ( 9 case and 36 controls ) in Serpong Tangerang District Health Canter during April 2011. Periodontal disease was defined as an the gingival attachment loss on 6 sides found one side with attachment loss ≥ 3 mm and gingival pocket depth on six sides of each tooth found one side with a depth ≥ 4 mm. The backwise stepwise logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the relationship between LOA and PD to LBW. Logistic regression analysis showed that the Odds Ratio of Pocket Depth for the LBW are 5.50 and coefficient regression 1.705. There is a correlation between periodontal pocket depth to low birth weight. Keywords : Periodontal Disease, Low Birth Weight
