  • Abstract One of the government's efforts in monitoring the progress of pregnant women and accelerate the reduction of maternal mortality and child to bridging the gap between the community and the health workers through the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook. MCH Handbook issued by the Department of Health Republic of Indonesia with the assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). MCH Handbook is a tool that is simple, but powerful as a means of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) in disseminating important information about Maternal and Child Health (MCH) to family, MCH handbook potential for improving knowledge and behavior of families / mothers on reproductive health and child health. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of pregnant women knowledge with the use of MCH handbook. This is the type of descriptive analytic study of 43 respondents. The data was collected through filling out the questionnaire, using the test of chi square contingency. The results showed 74.41% of 43 respondents either knowledgeable, 25.59% which is less knowledge, and the use of MCH handbook of the 43 respondents 81.4% utilized well, and 18.6% less utilized. Chi square contingency test results indicate that there is a relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women with the use of MCH handbook.
