- Abstract : Diarrhea is often considered a trivial disease, although in global and national level facts show otherwise. According to WHO records, diarrhea kills two million children in the world every year, whereas in Indonesia, according to the National Health Survey (2001), diarrhea is one of the two biggest causes of death in infants. Nutrition status of children is measured based on the nutritional status of index weight by age, which for the subsequent measurements are compared with the WHO-NCHS standard. Children (under five years) are children aged one to five years. Critical period in child development are infancy. Because in this period will affect the basic growth and determine the next child development. The purpose of this study to obtain the relationship between nutrition status and diarrhea incidence in Irina E. BLU Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. This research design was a descriptive cross-sectional study, the independent variable is the dependent variable of nutritional status and diarrhea kajadian. the total sample of 1993 people. Data collected from respondents using a questionnaire. Based on the results of statistical ests with the Pearson chi-square test p=0.003 obtained value is smaller than the value of α = 0.05, this indicates that there is a relationship between nutrition status and diarrhea incidence.
