  • This study aims to see the effect of communication and motivation on employee performance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the general section of the Surakarta city regional secretariat. By testing each variable either partially or simultaneously. The type of data used in this study is primary and secondary data obtained from questionnaires that were distributed during the study on February 20 - April 26, 2021.Sampling in this study using a random sampling technique. With this random sampling method, a sample of 30 samples was obtained. The analysis model used in this study is a multiple linear regression analysis model carried out with the help of the SPSS version 25.0 for Windows computer program.The results of this study indicate that communication (X1) has a significant positive effect on employee performance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the general section of the Surakarta city regional secretariat. Motivation (X2) has a significant positive effect on employee performance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the general section of the Surakarta city regional secretariat, communication and motivation simultaneously or together have a significant positive effect on employee performance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the general section of the Surakarta city regional secretariat.
