  • The existence of a parallel transition triangle ie epidemiology, demography and technology in Indonesia today has resulted in changes in the disease pattern from infectious diseases to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) of which is a degenerative disease which is a major factor in the problem of morbidity and mortality. Lifestyle such as irregular exercise habits, lack of physical activity, smoking habits and alcohol and the wrong diet (high in calories, fat and sodium) can affect a person's blood pressure so that if not controlled will lead to hypertension. This study aims to determine the risk factors of hypertension in productive age in PuskesmasLansotTomohon.This type of research is analytic survey with the approach of case control (retrospective). The Community Health Center LansotTomohon in March to April 2014. The sample in this study were 94 people consisting of 47 people who have high blood pressure and 47 serve as a case of people who have normal blood pressure served as the control. The data were analyzed using statistical test Chi Square and Odds Ratio (OR) with a confidence level (CI) 95%, with the aid of SPSS softwareThe results were obtained there is a very significant p = 0.006 (p <0.05) and the value of OR = 3.3 between drinking alcohol with hypertension. There was a significant relationship p = 0.006 (p <0.05) and the value of OR = 4.3 between smoking and the incidence of hypertension. There was a significant relationship p = 0.001 (p <0.05) and the value of OR = 9.2 between a diet high in sodium with hypertension. There was a significant relationship p = <0.001 ((p <0.05) and the value of OR = 6.3 between nutritional status and the incidence of hypertension in the productive age in the working area health centers LansotTomohon.Keywords: Hypertension, Alcohol consumption habits, smoking habits, food High Sodium, Nutritional Status
