- This research is aimed to know the use of audio visual media increasing explanation writing learning. This research is an action research done in two cycles. The subjects of this research are the students and Indonesian teacher of grade X IPA 1 at SMA N 6 Purworejo. Data were gathered through observation, interview, test and document analysis. The data validity test used triangulation method and data resources. The techniques of data analysis employed descriptive comparative technique and critical analysis. The result are proved that: 1) audio visual media can increase explanation writing skill, and 2) audio visual media can be used to increase the quality of learning process of students explanation writing.
