  • Abstract: Application of Learning Model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) To Improve Learning Outcomes Chemistry Activeness And Student Class XI Science SMA PGRI 5 Palembang. This study aims to determine the chemical enhancing student learning outcomes through the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in grade XI SMA PGRI 5 Palembang. The method used in this research is classroom action research, carried out in three cycles, the first cycle consisted of meetings, the second cycle consists of two meetings, and the third cycle consists of one session. Data collection technique used observation sheets and final test cycle. Observation sheet used to determine the activity in the process of teaching and learning activities and tests used to determine student learning outcomes. The average value of student learning outcomes prior to the action (T0) is 64 (29.41%), the average value of the results of the test cycle I (T1) is 76.08 (58.82%), the average value of the test results second cycle (T2) is78.44 (79.41%) and the average value of test scores cycle III (T3) is 82.05 (88.23%). The average value of student activity prior to the action (T0) is 40.02%, the average value of the liveliness of the first cycle (T1) is 49.42%, the average value of 68.9% activity of the second cycle, the average value liveliness cycle III (T3) is 81.57%. The results showed that applying the model of Problem Based Learning can improve student learning outcomes chemistry. Teachers should be in school learning activities (KBM) in a class can implement the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) as an alternative to improve the activity and student learning outcomes.
