- Abstract: This classroom action research aims to improve the understanding of chemical concepts class XI science 2 SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Batu with the application of learning models Student Facilitator And Explaining (SFAE). This study was conducted in three cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. Data obtained through tests students' understanding of concepts held each end of the cycle. An increase in students' understanding of chemical concepts reflected in improved learning outcomes and student learning completeness. Learning outcomes and student learning completeness before action is 50.20 and 12.5%, increased to 62.24 and 20.83% in the cycle, then on the second cycle increased to 74.84 and 58.33%, and the cycle 3 again increased to 83.59 and 87.5%.
