- Abstract: The Application of Problem Based Learning Model to Increase Students’ Concept in Chemistry Subject at XI MIA 3 Class SMAN 1 Indralaya. This classroom action research is aimed to increase the concept of students understanding in chemistry class XI MIA 3 SMAN 1 Inderalaya through the application of Problem Based Learning models. This research was conducted in three cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. Data obtained through the concept of learners understanding test who held the end of each cycle. There are increasing the concept of students understanding in chemistry lessons reflected in improved learning outcomes and completeness of learners. The results of learning and mastery learning students before action was 55.85 and 17.85%, increased to 58.63 and 28.46% in first cycle, then the second cycle increased to 69.85 and 55.55%, and the third cycle increased to 80.50 and 89.28%. The results showed the Problem Based Learning models can improve the learning outcomes of students.Keywords: classroom action research, problem-based learning model, conceptual understanding of learners
