- Abstract: The Improvement of Students’ Learning Outcome by Appliying Cooperative Learning Type STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) in Chemistry Subject in Class X MIA 2 SMAN 5 Palembang. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of chemistry class X MIA 2 SMA Negeri 5 Palembang by implementing the cooperative learning model STAD (Student Team Achievement Division). This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation / evaluation and reflection. The data collection is done by using observation sheet and achievement test at the end of the each cycle. The average value of student learning before treatment (T0) is 62.09 with the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes for 41.93%. At Cycle I (T1), the percentage of completeness in student learning outcomes improved to 72.41% with the average value of 74.48. Its because the implementation of cooperative learning model STAD engage learners to be able to work together in groups and think independently. At Cycle II (T2) the average value is increased to 81.33 with the percentage of learning outcomes by 90%. This increase occurred because students to be more active in questioning, discussion groups, answer the question. Based on the research and analysis of the data, it showed that student learning outcomes in chemistry subject implementing is improved due to the implementation of the cooperative learning model STAD (Student Team Achievement Division). Therefore, it can be concluded that T2>T1>T0. Keyword: Classroom action research, Cooperative Learning Model STAD Type, Results of Chemistry Learning
