  • This thesis study discusses the Notary deed model that protects the Agreement on the Transfer of Right to Plant Varieties. This study is a normative legal research withe the legal type and materials obtained from secondary data, collected through library studies, with deductive deduction techniques. The results of this study are, the notary deed model in the transfer of rights to plant varieties that can provide protection for the parties (breeders and recipients of plant breeders) is to include clauses that do not harm the parties and fulfill the principles in the contract law. Notary deed is required in the transfer of rights to PVP because it has a high value in creating a variety of plants it requires relatively expensive costs and a relatively long time, when compared to other intellectual property. The norm of the necessity to use a notary deed on the PVP rights transition is stated explicitly in the body of Law Number 29 of 2000 concerning Plant Variety Protection, the reason for the need for a notary deed in PVP transfer is to create legal certainty and can be used as perfect evidence of any denial. Second, the role of the notary in making the deed of cooperation agreement for cultivating plant varieties is to make a deed in connection with the cooperation agreement on the cultivation of plant varieties, which is further stated in the notary deed as stipulated in the law.
