  • Parking location is a facility that must exist in this modern era because of the development of the times, the vehicle will mean more and more facilities are needed in the form of a parking location that functions to place each vehicle to fit in its place. Therefore there needs to be good management to maximize the function of the parking location to be more efficient. Then the study was conducted using image processing for parking systems. In this study, image processing is used to detect parking locations with the aim that the system can determine the available parking locations, making it easier for vehicle users to find parking locations. This study uses the background subtraction method in detecting parking locations with two inputs, namely an image of an empty parking space as a background and an image of a parking space filled as a foreground. Furthermore, image quality improvements are made with a median filter on the background subtraction results which are then processed using regionprops to measure the area of the selected object with binary images in processing. From the experiments conducted in this study, the accuracy of filled parking locations was 63.3% and for empty parking locations 43.3%. It is expected that with this system, vehicle users can park their vehicles in the specified system so that the capacity of the parking location becomes more efficient.
