- Tutoring institutions are out-of-school activities that aim to help students improve their understanding. Tutoring institutions are one of many way students can add to the preparation of understanding material and information related to SBMPTN. Currently there are a lot of tutoring institutions, especially in the city of Palembang with the facilities and infrastructures and their respective qualities. Based on the results of a questionnaire conducted in this study, 62.5% of students in the city of Palembang claimed that it was quite difficult at this time to determine tutoring institutions in accordance with their wishes. The lack of detailed information about various SBMPTN tutoring institutions causes the potential participants to only know these institutions only by a flash of information without any prior research. With the existing problems, there is an opportunity to build a Decision Support System (SPK) that can take into account all aspects of the criteria in determining SBMPTN study guidance that is suitable for student’s needs. This system uses the TOPSIS method as a tool in calculating and helping in getting the best alternative recommendations. The results of this study are the application of a decision support system for the selection of SBMPTN tutoring agency recommendations with website based system.
