PENGARUH FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN WHATSAPP TERHADAP NILAI INTERDIALYTIC WEIGHT GAIN (IDWG)

- Non-compliance of hemodialysis patients in limiting fluid intake, one of which causes an increase in Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG), increasing the IDWG value that is too high can cause various kinds of complications such as hypertension, interdialysis hypotension, muscle cramps, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting and so forth. Lack of family support for the patient will affect the compliance of the patient's fluid intake restrictions. This research focuses on the use of whatsapp social media because whatsapp is the most popular social media in the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Family Support Group using Whatsapp on the value of Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG). This type of research is quantitative with pre experimental using one group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this study was 16 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. The results of bivariate analysis using paired t test there were significant differences between the IDWG values before and after the family support group intervention by using whatsapp with p value 0.014 <0.05 (α = 0.05). The Family Support Group will increase compliance with restrictions on fluid intake in patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Limitation of fluid intake in patients with chronic kidney disease needs attention to prevent complications. Family Support Group can be one of the nursing care media specifically to carry out preventive functions for families and patients.
