  • Tidal swamp waters are included the category of saline land that has potential for the development of fish farming. This research was conducted to find the salinity of catfish culture in tidal swamp. Therefore, this research purposed to determine the salinity of media isoosmotic by body fluids, and to prove salinity value on this isoosmotic condition to survival rate, growth, and feed conversion ratio of juvenile catfish. This research used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were media freshwater (control), 2 ppt (P1), 4 ppt (P2), 6 ppt (P3), 8 ppt (P4). The result showed there was positive correlation between salinity and conductivity. The isoosmotic value for Juvenil Catfish was 5.893 mS/cm or 4.11 ppt salinity. Survival, growth and feed conversion ratio showed the results were not significantly different (P <0.05). Meanwhile, regression curve analysis showed that optimal salinity for survival rate was 2,93 ppt, spesific growth rate of length and weight were at 4,17 ppt and 3,79 ppt, and feed conversion ratio at 4 ppt. This proves that Juvenile Catfish can grow well on a swampy tidal waters with salinity between 3,79-4,17 ppt.
