  • The background of the problem of this research is students’ writing ability on report paragraphs. They were not able to choose appropriate vocabulary, to express their ideas, to use correct grammatical order, to develop their ideas, and to construct the relationship of ideas in making report paragraphs. The main focus of this research were to find out students ability in writing report paragraphs taught by using Round Table technique, to find out students ability in writing report paragraphs taught without using Round Table technique, and to find out whether there is a significant difference of result between the use of Round Table technique and TPT on students’ ability in writing report paragraphs of the eleventh grade at State Senior High School 1 Rumbio Jaya. This research is an experiment research which uses quasi-experimental design. The writer used non equivalent control group design. The writer took two groups, pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was all of the second year students of State Senior High School 1 Rumbio Jaya. They consisted of 3 classes (78 students). The writer used two classes as sample that each class consisted of 25 students. They were XI IPA 1 as experimental class and XI IPA 2 as control class. The experimental class was taught by using Round Table technique and control class was taught without using Round Table technique. The technique of collecting data of this research was test. The test was used to take the data of students’ writing ability on report paragraphs. In analyzing the data, the writer used Independent Sample T-Test which was calculated using SPSS 16. Based on the data analysis, the writer found that there is a statistically significance effect of using Round Table technique on improving students’ writing ability on report paragraphs. Considering the t test = 7.450 with df = 48 and correlated with either 5% and 1 % significant level, the t table at level 5% was 2.01, while at level 1% the ttable was 2.68. thus, the tobtained higher than the ttable; 2.02 ≤7.450≥ 2.72. The writer concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
