  • The objectives of this research were to find out the information and data about students’ vocabulary comprehension taught by using board word games at State Junior High School 02 Bangkinang, to find out the information and data about students’ vocabulary comprehension without using board word games at State Junior High School 02 Bangkinang, and to find out if there is a significant difference of using board word games at State Junior High School 02 Bangkinang. The design of this research was a quasy experimental design. The total number of population was 117 students. The sample was taken by using cluster random sampling. The sample was class VII A that consisted of 29 students as an experimental class, and class VII B, that consisted of 29 students as a control class. So, the number of sample from two classes was 58 students. The technique of collecting data used by researcher was test, used to find out the students’ vocabulary comprehension. The technique of analyzing data was an independent sample T-test formula by using SPSS 17. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that the score of to was higher than t table, which showed (2.00<7.716>1.67). It means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that the students’ vocabulary comprehension taught by using Board Word Games Strategy is better than who were taught without using Board Word Games Strategy at state Junior High School 02 Bangkinang. It means that there is significant effect of using Board Word Games on students’ vocabulary comprehension of the first grade at State Junior High School Bangkinang.
