- Path application has failed and permanently closed. Therefore, it is predicted that there is a switching intention in social media usage from Path to other applications. However, the applied research about switching intention on social media usage is under-researched. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to identify the effect of dissatisfaction of system quality and alternative attractiveness towards switching intention which influence switching behaviour of Path User in DKI Jakarta. To answer the purpose of this study and test the hypothesis, the method of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) Partial Least Square is used, with the SmartPLS 3 software as an analytical tool. The sample of this study uses the method of purposive sampling where respondents add up to 100 respondents, which are former consumers of Path application in DKI Jakarta. This research proves that dissatisfaction of system quality and alternative attractiveness significantly positive influences switching intention, where switching intention significantly positive influences switching behavior. Based on these results, every social media developer is recommended to keep on updating features so users don’t feel bored and monotonous. In addition, it is also recommended to launch features that users need and be aware on competitors.
