- This study is focused on communication patterns of communication among parents-children and children-children in Sasak families dealing with the cultural norms and belief in the society. The patterns of language occur at level of communication namely: social, group and individual. They are for types of communication patterns employed by parents-children and children at Pelembak, i.e.: advice, suggestion, threatening and warning. The four types of communication patterns describes how Sasak parents instruct their children in communication and how children communicate with one to another especially when he or she is reminding his or her peer in daily interaction. The data of this study were gathered by the researcher for three months. The methods employed in this study are descriptive and ethnographic. In gathering data, the techniques employed are participant’s observation, interview, and audio recording and note takings. The data were analyzed by the researcher descriptively. They were classified based on the type of communication patterns with examples and discussion to get better understanding. This study is supposed to provide information concerning the patterns of communication among parents-children and children interaction at Pelembak. Moreover it is also expected to supply essential contribution to educational field especially in the study of Sasak language. .
