- Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Operasi Tangkap Tangan (OTT) yang dilakukan oleh Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) terhadap bupati Kabupaten Lampung Tengah yaitu Mustafa menjelang pemilihan gubernur lampung tahun 2018, pada saat ditangkap oleh KPK Mustafa merupakan calon gubernur lampung tahun 2018. Meskipun telah terjaring Operasi Tangkap Tangan oleh KPK, Mustafa tidak diperkenankan untuk mengundurkan diri dan tetap melanjutkan perjuangan untuk memenangkan Pemilihan Gubernur (Pilgub) Lampung 2018. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana fenomena korupsi Mustafa dan apa faktor penyebab korupsi Mustafa yang merupakan calon Gubernur Lampung pada pilkada tahun 2018. Metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa terdapat tiga faktor yang menjadi penyebab korupsi Mustafa Bupati lampung tengah yaitu faktor Antropologis (faktor iman yang kurang kuat dan keinginan untuk berkuasa, faktor ekonomi politiik karena adanya faktor politik yang terdistorsi kepentingan ekonomi khususnya menjelang pemilihan Gubernur Lampung tahun 2018, faktor sosiologis karena adanya pengaruh lingkungan sosial dan lingkungan kerja. Modus korupsi Mustafa bupati lampung tengah adalah modus suap proyek-proyek pemerintah kepada anggota DPRD kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Selain itu Mustafa menerima Gratifikasi dari pemilik dan direktur dari dua perusahaan terkait proyek pembangunan jalan di wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Kata kunci : Korupsi, Kepala Daerah, Pemilihan Gubernur. The motive of this researchwas sting operation (OTT) which held by Corruption Eradication Commission(KPK) toward The Regent of Central Lampung, Mustafa, when the 2018 election for Lampung Governor was near around. At that time,when he was caught by KPK, Mustafa was a candidate for the next Lampung Governor. Despite his corruption act was discovered by the KPK, Mustafa was not allowed to step down from the election process and continued his path to won the title of Lampung next governor. The purpose of this research was to found out and describe the phenomenon of Mustafa corrupt case, also discover Mustafa Corrupt act motive considered his status as one of the candidate of the Lampung 2018 Governor election. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study, shows that there are three factors that cause Mustafa‟s corruption act, which were Antropologist factor (lack of faith to the god, his strong desire to rule the roost), Economic Politics factor which means there is a distortion thru the politics factor caused by economic concerns particularly near the Lampung Governor 2018 election, Sociological factor which affected by social and the work environment.Mustafa‟s corrupt technique was by giving bribe to the member of Central Lampung DPRD in the form of governmental project. Moreover, Mustafa also recived gratification from the owner and the director of two companies which realated to Central Lampung road construction project.
