- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pelestarian hutan mangrove yang berlokasi di Desa Margasari Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Dalam penelitian, dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif tipe olah data SPSS Versi 24.0 dengan jumlah populasi sebesar 481 Kepala Keluarga (KK) dan mengambil sampel sebanyak 83 responden yang terbagi atas 63 laki-laki dan 20 perempuan yang tersebar di 4 Dusun dan Dusun 12. Latar belakang pendidikan dari setiap responden mulai dari tingkat Sekolah Dasar sampai Sekolah Menengah Atas hingga status pekerjaannya dari mulai tani, nelayan, wiraswasta, buruh dan ibu rumah tangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat pengaruh positif antara persepsi dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pelestarian hutan mangrove di Desa Margasari dengan tingkat persentase sebesar 75,9% atau 63 dari total 83 rersponden. Artinya bahwa masyarakat Desa Margasari memiliki persepsi yang baik mengenai hutan mangrove yang ada disekitarnya. Selain itu, masyarakat sudah cukup mengenal baik mengenai manfaat dan kegunaan mangrove dalam kehidupan. Sehingga harapan bagi peneliti selanjutnya, dapat melakukan penelitian sejenis dengan menggunakan variabel atau indikator yang lain sehingga persepsi dan partisipasi masyarakat pesisir dapat menjadi lebih baik. Kata kunci: Mangrove, Persepsi dan Partisipasi dan Pesisir ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the perceptions and participation of community members in the preservation of mangrove forests located in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency. In the study, it was carried out with the quantitative method type SPSS version 24.0 data with a population of 481 household heads (KK) and took a sample of 83 respondents divided into 63 male and 20 women spread in 4 hamlets and hamlets each respondent starts from the level of elementary school to senior high school to the status of his work from starting farmers, fishermen, entrepreneurs, laborers and housewives. The results showed that, there was a positive influence between community perceptions and participation in the preservation of mangrove forests in margasari villages with a percentage level of 75.9% or 63 of a total of 83 respondents. This means that the Margasari Village community has a good perception of the surrounding mangrove forests. In addition, the community is well-acquainted with the benefits and uses of mangroves in life. So that the hopes for the next researcher can do similar research using other variables or indicators so that the perceptions and participation of coastal communities can be better.
