- Seedling acclimatization of Dendrobium species is an adaptation process of seedling to new enviromental condition. However, the high rate of decay and death seedling within one until two weeks of planting become a major problem in acclimatization, so the special treatment was needed in handling it. In this case the proper used of leaf fertilizer and additions of coconut water as a natural fertilizer has not been widely used as one of this special treatments. This study aimed to determine the effect of giving formulation of coconut water and leaf fertilizer on the vegetative growth of seeds at the acclimatization stage. This type of researchwas an experimental with used 24 seeds sample’s devided into 5 treatment groups and 1 control that was control (PA), 100 ml coconut water & 1 gram leaf fertilizer (PB), 150 ml coconut water & 1,5 grams leaf fertilizer (PC), 200 ml coconut water & 2 grams leaf fertilizer (PD), 250 ml coconut water & 2,5 grams leaf fertilizer (PE), also 250 ml coconut water & 3 grams leaf fertilizer (PF). The research data was obtained by measuaring seedlings for 10 weeks. That were analyzed by SPSS 2011 which normality test, homogeneity test, One Way Anova test, and BJND. The results of the study stated that the administration of coconut water and leaf fertilizers affected the vegetative growth of seedling Dendrobium species, and the best formulation was at a concentration of 200 ml coconut water and 2 grams leaf fertilizer. Furthermore the utilization of research results can be used as one of the study sources of Biology learning.
