  • The machine is one of the elements that need to be considered to support the smooth production. Accordingly an optimal maintenance system is needed, so that the machine is always in good condition with minimum maintenance costs. The treatment system used at PT. Sumber Indah Perkasa Tbk. is a type of corrective maintenance. But in reality the level of downtime in 2018 is still very high at 355 hours. This causes the company to experience a loss in terms of not achieving the production target, unemployment labor costs, lost production, engine repair. The data that is processed is the engine data that experiences the highest downtime. The purpose of this study is to provide optimal replacement intervals of critical components of the press machine in order to minimize maintenance costs. This study uses the Reliability Centered Maintenance method. Based on the results of data processing, critical components of press machines are wear plates, tapper heads, main shafts and body cauge. Wear plate component replacement intervals are carried out every 38 days, while the other three components are every 55 days. Then the decrease in downtime time is 3.39% and the decrease in maintenance costs is Rp7,471,793 or 10%.
