  • Alternative energy is energy that can reduce the dependence of primary energy such as petroleum and fossils. One alternative is biopelet made from waste, which is not complicated by simple tools and easily accessible language such as coconut shells, wood sawdust, teak leaves, rice straw, coconut fibers, leaves and much more. Besides being able to be used for household needs such as cooking substitutes for gas or oil stoves, biopelet can also be utilized for small and medium industries instead of fuel, biopelet has different characteristics depending on the material, mixing and process of making it. In this study the material used as a biopelet is biomass from teak leaves and coconut shell. Of the two materials will be processed which produces a biopelet with a diameter of 17 mm with a length of 5 cm and weighs 6 grams. To find out the calorific value of each biopelet, a calorimeter boom test will be carried out, each sample is only taken 1 gram which will produce different calorific values.
